So here’s the dealio. I’m writing three different posts at the same time, they’ll be posted in three different places, and all three are gonna start off with the same three paragraphs. But they’ll each go their own way after these first three paragraphs. I’ll write/post one here, I’ll write/post one over at my WordPress blog, and the other I’ll send over to RooBeeDoo to see what she comes up with.

I’ve not been doing a lot of writing lately, but I sure as shit have been thinking about it. I’m about to undertake some scary endeavors, and I’ve been working hard to dial my writing back since December of last year in preparation for these endeavors. I’ve also been trying to be mindful of what I read and watch. Limiting my intake, if you will. But last night, I started to feel just downright depressed. Like someone had kicked me in the junk, cept with none of the actual pain and all of the actual depression. As I lay on my bed and contemplated while I felt so shitty, I got the impression that I just flat out missed writing all the time. There are other things I miss as well, but I can’t do anything about that. So, I’ll focus on those things I can do something about. At this stage in my life, there is really only one thing that I have some limited ability to control, and that is my writing, and where and when I choose to write it. Let’s onward with the…whatever this is.

Right off the bat, I can relate. I’ve had a few of those myself. Not only that, but I’ve contemplated potential connections to “Near Death Experience(s)” and “Sleep Paralysis”. I have sleep paralysis all the time, and have had this phenomena happen to me all my life. But I never knew what to call the experience, so I always called it “My Death Dream”.

It’s not always the same, but it’s always similar, and it almost always ends the same way. Well, it ends in one of several ways, but each of those few always wind up in the same place.

Anyway, I’m wondering how the body reacts to, and copes with, the experience of death long-term. Like, how does the body deal with the death experience when that same someone/body doesn’t actually die? Does it affect the soul? Does it affect the spirit? Does it affect the mind? All of those? How so? Are there certain interests and/or interested parties that are trying to cultivate specific measurable results out of these experiences?

Ya rly. Are there people out there who are trying to cultivate and direct how these experiences are classified and/or spun? I’ll not further qualify mt thoughts on the matter(s), but I have recently been pondering the dynamics of experience with respect to…well…let’s just say…”less conventional experience(s)”. Those who have them, those who don’t. Those that want to have them, those who wish they hadn’t had them.

Welp, that aside, at least we are talking about it. I went for a large portion of my life, going to bed every single night, not knowing if I was going to wake up in the morning. Spent a large portion of my life having these experiences, and no one to talk to/talk with about them. It gave me the slightest case of more or less permanent insomnia, and also made me mute. I’ve a lot of difficulty sleeping, and I’m typically not fond of dreaming. For some reason, dreams seem to be a conduit for me slipping into my death dream(s). I even learned to wake myself up when I started dreaming. Yes…I was afraid to dream. Still am. Not to mention, I’m talking for the first time in my life.

So yeah…there’s a bit “backed up in the queue”…if you will.

Imagine the entire Universe imploding. There are only two beings left alive in this collapsing Universe, they are learning at an exponentially geometric rate, and realize that even though The Universe is collapsing, that there is a way to facilitate the creation of a new one. And so, they work diligently, ever faster, to ensure that life will someday continue. “The old” cannot be saved, but “a new” can be created.

And now, to the choice.

Q: Which one of us will go through, and which one of us will be destroyed?

A: Neither.

One comes up with a brilliant plan, and it is agreeable and acceptable to both. They will combine to create a new being. A new being that will not go through per se, but rather, will be something new entirely. Hence, 2 + 0 = 1.

Two will join, through zero, to create one.

Does my tale sound heretical? If not, fear not. There’s MUCH more to the story, and it’s still going. I’m sure I can piss someone off if I keep telling it. Hell, I may be able to piss EVERYONE off with it.

Just something I’ve seen. That’s why it was kinda freaky when RooBeeDoo introduced me to the concept of Sophia. It was a story that I already knew and had seen, but I wasn’t sure how to relate it. Do we start transmitting a cluster fuck of data out into space in the hopes that someone somewhere will eventually pick up on this record of our existence? Digitized books of all kinds? Music? Film/Movies? Pictures? Blueprints and records of all kinds? Family trees, credit card info, purchase history and purchasing preferences?

Anyway, if we start sending a galactic “S.O.S.” out into space in the hopes that A) someone will hear it, and B) they’ll hopefully come and help. Welp, if we ourselves maintain a policy that we would not do the same, could we expect a reply even if someone could in fact hear us?

I’ve postulated that being a bad neighbor is a bad policy to subscribe to. If we received a distress signal from somewhere else, and even if we couldn’t do anything to assist, we could at least send a “hello” to let those in peril know that they weren’t alone. I mean, if they were like us, and didn’t believe in life elsewhere, were in distress and were about to die completely alone, can you IMAGINE the impact it would have on those lives to hear another from elsewhere lend a sympathetic ear with a sympathetic mouth? Even if that first responder wasn’t able to assist, they at least did all they could. At least they were there.

There’s been a lot of weirdness on The Internet recently. I would take this activity to mean that there are some government agencies getting ready to make some moves.

I can only assume that the Facebook hearings were a complete and total bust. I’ve not been keeping up with that nor anything else really, but there’s been no mention of it from these few places that I do frequent, and it’s surprised me that there’s been no chatter on it. Maybe it’s being filtered? Or is that too paranoid.

What little of those hearings I saw sure seemed to give the media a good look at itself. That bit I saw of all of the photographers snapping pics of the Facebook CEO testifying was quite poignant. It was like the media, looking at the media, through the media, via the media, all while those that use and/or attempt to control the media were watching the media watching themselves. It was nuts. Like a hall of mirrors.

But yeah, Twitter has been wonky as fuck over the past week or so, and I’m not the only one that has noticed. YouTube has also been acting strangely, although nothing specific comes to mind other than “it’s been acting weird”. Not to mention that although I don’t use Facebook, the Facebook App appears to be installed on my phone, and it has updated several times over the past week or so.

His blog is looking more and more like some of the original “Synchrosphere” blogs that I first started browsing back in 2012. Weird shit that appeared to go out of their way to not make any sense. But I later got to thinking that it was likely more to be a case of someone having something to say, and not knowing how to say it, nor who to say it to. People trying to learn how to speak this bizarre language that seemed to simultaneously make sense, and yet made no sense. Especially when you tried to relate it to others.

That’s how I felt when I first stumbled into this bullshit. Completely fucking lost, and surrounded by a bunch of other lost fucks. That may sound pessimistic, but on the contrary, it actually filled me with a great deal of hope. There were some that appeared to have been around for a while, and they had a little better bead on the nonsense. But even that was short lived. To think that you have a grasp on anything other than your own personal life and your own personal experiences? A mistake. Or at least it could be.

I just figured it was an opportunity to learn. An opportunity to learn how to learn, while learning how to teach, without really trying to teach at all.

Whether they know it or not, there are a lot of fucks out there who have helped me immensely over the past 8/10 years.

Sometimes when I read certain things, it makes me wonder about just how “connected” we think we are. Do you know every single person in your neighborhood? More than that, are you on speaking terms with them? Good speaking terms? Great speaking terms? I mean like BFF types of relationships with every single neighbor? Cookouts and community sings nightly, with a weekly dance hosted on weekends where all are encouraged to attend?

How about every single person you know/have known. Are you on good terms with them?

Yeah, there’s only so much time, and we have to prioritize our time, so enemies can and do come in handy. Even if you commit yourself to liking anyone and everyone, that favor is not likely to be returned. Certainly not always. Even the sweetest of the sweet are known to have bad days. So with that in mind, what are we talking about. Tolerance?

I could ask. But that would presume that there is answer. Not only that, but there is an answer, and that answer will be provided if I ask. But if the answer is available, why isn’t it given freely, and sans all of the interrogative streams?

In order for one to understand the dynamics of drowning, does someone need to actually drown? More than that, do you actually need to be there to witness the drowning?

Just thinking and reflecting a bit on the confusion that I personally have struggled with over the years. Finding this Synchrowhatever bullshit didn’t help, it made things worse. But if nothing else, it did give me a bit of a nudge in the direction of keeping myself better afloat. But there are those who want to see you melt. They want to see you out of your element, and they want to see you crushed at your strongest point.

When I was introduced to the concept of Kenosis a few years back, it gave a new spin to an old concept, and was a bit of fresh air. I still cling to that concept, but I don’t really know what it means. I can only keep my shirt open with heart exposed for so long before people are likely to become completely repulsed and start puking. So what is it like to expose your tender side(s) to what appears to be a bloodthirsty mob? I dunno. I’m still writing. Pondering and writing, writing and pondering.

All that said, dumping one religion for another, or one lifestyle for another, or one whatever for another, is a choice that only you can make. Just keep in mind the one constant in that and those scenarios. Yeah…you.

I was talking to Roob the other day, and mentioned to her that “when you are getting your ass kicked, it really doesn’t matter if God or Lucifer that is doing the kicking.” Point being, it doesn’t really matter if “Good” or “Bad” is kicking your ass, nor under what pretenses. It doesn’t change the fact that there is basically no distinction between God and Lucifer under certain circumstances. But that does raise an interesting point.

God is supposedly tough and more than willing to dish out a beating when a beating is in order, but for the most part, is loving and caring.

Lucifer is supposedly full of hate, and you’ll be getting no sweet sweet love from them under any circumstances.

Yet Lucifer is rumored to be willing to give us all kinds of neato stuff here on Earth. An ass kicking is on order later, but smooth sailing for now.

These were tough concepts for me to tangle with when I was younger. They’re still tough to tangle with now. What if neither of these motherfuckers even exist? What if they DO exist, but they are the actually the same asshat, and they can sometimes be a bit moody?

In this last one, they went to some “haunted” site where some murders took place about 50 years ago. The people in the vid invoked the name of the man who was convicted of the murders, spent the rest of his life in prison, and is now dead. It got me to thinking…

Sometimes, vids may be removed from a particular host. They are removed for various reasons, but the fact that they are gone is likely what concerns us the most. There are also videos that may be available “here” but not “there”…depending on where you are.

When a video is removed on YouTube, sometimes the name of the video is removed as well. Not always, but sometimes. It depends on whether there is a copyright claim, or an account suspension, or video being deleted by the user, all kinds of crazy shit.

My adding the name of a particular video leaves me a marker of sorts. When I first started writing, I didn’t do that. As a result, a lot of videos have been removed, and I’ve no idea what they were. I may have an idea, but I forget things…so…yeah. /shrug

Anyway, I posted for a while on these whatchacallit forums, and one of the admins made a rule that all embedded videos needed to also include a hyperlink to the video. I took it a step further, and included the video name as well. But I also tended not to embed videos, just included a hyperlink, and no description. It added to the mystery a bit when a video was somehow related to what I was writing about, but it also gave the reader a choice as to whether or not to click on the link. It also helped build a rapport with the reader. Trust. When and if to trust me, when to trust yourself.

I dunno if it was right or wrong, but it was sometimes pretty fun to think about. Still is.

A: Yes. Sometimes, I am going to intentionally blindside the fuck out of you. But just keep in mind, that being on this end doesn’t make things any easier.

So yeah…here I am…learning WordPress a bit. If my experience with technical support and software development has taught me anything, it’s taught me that rule number one in troubleshooting and/or bug hunting is…try and break it. Yep. Type characters into numeric fields, try and put decimals into integer fields, paste ridiculously long strings into text fields, and even longer text strings into memo fields…anything and everything crazy you can think of to do…do it. It’ll not only give you specific and local feedback as to your focus field(s), but it’ll also sometimes reveal things going on with forms, states, timers, and any/all processes that may be running in the background. If you’ve got some crazy looping or case routine running, and you do something wacky with a particular field, there’s no telling what your action(s) will reveal in the damnedest of places that you NEVER thought would EVER affect eachother.

I find this ironic considering the contextual nature of applications as well as the structured nature of the underlying architectures. If you baby something just to get a product out the door, you aren’t thinking about your end users and the chaotic nature of their lives. “Multi-Tasking” is multi-faceted, inside and out.

The only reason I’ve yet to really start to try and wreak havoc with the WordPress edit window, is because I’m trying to think more about my friend and how she uses it. Although not a programmer per se, she’s quite savvy. I would imagine she is more than “computer savvy” cept maybe still a shade timid about jumping off into the deep end and exploring the code window a shade more.

I also need to consider that I write articles that she posts on her blog. I write them and send them over in a plain-old text file, she then edits the living fuck out of my part, adds her own bits, then posts it. I know what I sent her, I know what I see. Rarely does she have to contact me with questions, and it’s even more rare that she has questions that are not directly content related…but it can and does happen.

So yeah…I’m not a complete newb to WordPress, just a complete n00b to this part of WordPress. That said, I’m not quite ready to start seeing how I can get the editor to misbehave. There are browser issues to consider, not to mention the fact that I am running what would be considered antiquated hardware that is running outdated and unsupported software. 10 year old computer.

Man. Can you imagine abandoning a 10 year old because you didn’t want to support them anymore? Too non-cost-effective. Too many constraints. Too much ineffective use of time. Too many demands.

I’m off track.

I’m starting to understand a bit more why RooBeeDoo uses some “unorthodox” techniques for formatting both her and our blog posts. This shit is difficult to read and follow without a fuckton of guidance and forethought as to how we write, and how what we write is eventually formatted. I say “we” there, because me and Roob seem to have similar writing styles with respect to the blog posts that we write. Now that I’ve come out of my shell a bit, and started to be a shade more wordy, along with me actually using WordPress a bit myself so that I can see how the editor works and what WordPress’s vision of what blogs and blogging is…yeah…some things are starting to make even more sense.

I’m not here to sing Blogger’s praises. It’s quirky and buggy as fuck, and especially when you try to get clever with it. It’s constantly adding superfluous spacing everyFUCKINGwhere, and seems to have a problem with both trimming and adding trailing spaces. I trust the Blogger editor as far as I can throw it, which is why I still backup everything that I write in text files on my local drive. I lose all of the formatting, but I wrote and formatted the shit, so should I ever need to, I’m quite confident in my abilities to get the formatting back to pretty close to what it was.

Blogger also doesn’t have much in the way of formatting tools. You get a coupla fonts that only have three sizes, and even if you go in and tinker with the HTML, your are going to get overridden by the visual editor.

I guess maybe at some point, I should attempt an entire Blogger post in the HTML editor and see if the two conflict in any way.

But yeah…thinking about it now, Blogger seems to be really fucking big on keeping everything away from everything else.

Anyway, there’s a bit about Heroin “addicts”, and it got me to thinking about the process of letting go that seems to hang the fuck on. Such as…”addicts”.

I read the bit about turning circles in the store, and everything you see reminds you of the someone you lost. I know that feeling. If I possessed some something that I’ve found to help make it better, I’d pass it along/share it…but I’ve found no such thing. Well, except time. Time helps a bit. But someone trying to “get over” the need to cry when you feel one coming on? I don’t think that helps. Not always anyway. You’ll just have to be your own best judge. I find that a combination of letting the tears fly and holding them back sometimes works, sometimes not.

Writing has helped me quite a bit. Helps me personally to avoid and confront at the same time. Allows me the time to ponder the concepts of both without really doing either. Makes facing one or the other a shade more identifiable when we unwittingly find ourselves in those grooves. I think what can be key tho, is remembering that you are still you, and they are still them. Wandering off to fight a proxy war is going to likely to result in proxy victims. Victims you’ll never know that you even victimized.

Not trying to imply that their aren’t just and good motivations, nor am I implying that you are without grievance nor cause. But you gotta sometimes question yourself…

The only cause of death that I’m aware of…is death. If there’s one specific thing that leads to death, there are many.  My dad died of lung cancer, and it was Mesothelioma, but he was someone who smoked cigarettes, so the doctors were hesitant to diagnose it as such even though all the signs were there. Plus he had two previous heart attacks, one mild, one not so mild at all, and those were attributed to smoking even tho he had blocked arteries and had to get stints put in. I’m sure that was bad diet related. But to anyone who is operating under this “he shoulda lived healthier” crap, you didn’t know the man at all.

He spent his days covered in greases, and oils, and all fucking kinds of vile chemicals that would turn most people into mush on first contact. His hands were worn, scarred, beaten and caloused…like an old catcher’s mitt that was somehow made out of steel. No chance at all that the industrial sewing machines he worked on ever sewed a shirt or pair of pants or a dress or underwear or shoes or a coat that you eventually bought. No chance that you sleep on a mattress that was made on a machine that he repaired at some point. No chance that the fancy embroidery on your hat or jacket was made with a sewing machine that he spent hours tweaking so that the design and sewing would be flawless.

His father worked on industrial sewing machines too. In fact, he worked at a bra factory in WWII that converted to wartime production of parachutes and belts and bandoliers and shit like that. Chances are that my grandfather worked on sewing machines that sewed parachutes together that eventually dropped paratroopers into France on June 6 of 1944, and later into Holland on September 17th of 1944. Not to mention all of the parachutes that were sewn for God only knows who else. My grandfather didn’t smoke, but he did smoke cigars for a while. He quit eventually because he chose to quit. His wife smoked. So did 3 of their 4 children. One of those four children eventually grew up and got freaky with some lady that I call “mom”, and several months later…I appeared outta nowhere.

I guess now that I’ve used WordPress a bit more like I personally would use it, I can see why WordPress might have a shade more appeal to certain sets of users. The interface is a shade more intuitive once you start to actually use the fucking thing. But then, it gets a shade…restrictive. Almost like…the entire time you use it…someone is watching your goofy ass. Every single thing is monitored. Everything you do is reviewed and acted upon in the right fucking NOW!!!

Instead of getting more comfortable with the edit window/editor, I find myself cringing a bit with every keystroke. Like…at any moment, the next keystroke could spell dezaster!!!

Anyway, I find myself feeling more constricted. Like my shoulders are tensing and I cringe at every thought of pressing a key. I mean…I’ve no idea what in the fuck each keypress is going to do. Not to mention, that getting to the end of the editor window is irritating as FUCK when the goddamn edit box contents doesn’t scroll when you reach the end of the page. What’s up with that? Must be a browser/service discrepancy or something. I’m digrestlessing here.

Yesterday, when simultaneously writing those posts with RooBeeDoo, I somehow got into some fucking loop where every time I would hit the delete key, or highlight an object and then hit the backspace key, WordPress would kick me out of the editor window and take me back to the user area or whatever it’s called. This happened several times as I tried to figure out why WordPress was not adding images or videos to lines where I had centered the cursor/text, and then pasted in the text of a URL. I then discovered that…yeah…WordPress was adding the damn things…they just wouldn’t show up until you closed the edit window, then reopened the post for editing.

Anyway, shit is going to get wonky as new features are added and/or old ones dropped. I can accept that. But then again, I’m a software developer who has quite a bit of experience on both sides of the fence. “End-users” are kinda like The Emperor in Star Wars. They  aren’t nearly as forgiving as Darth Vader is.

…and then hit a hard return, the editor automatically resets the formatting to the default.

This kind of automation kinda makes sense, but not really. It certainly doesn’t make sense from an authorship point, when I am both writing and editing my writing at the same time.

Pro-Tip: Not all authors follow convention. Not all authors are hooked on standards.

  • Why can I not highlight a portion of and/or the entire contents of the edit window?
  • Why do you require me to go to the “HTML” portion of the edit window, and copy blocks from there?
  • What’s your beef with highlighting an embedded video? You fucks are the ones that is parsing every single URL to see if it’s embeddable.
  • Should I have worded the previous as “to see if it can be embedded?
  • If you are trying to sell me on the idea that I should switch from Blogger to WordPress, you may want to keep “sell” in mind considering your pricing matrix.
  • Starving artists…are…well…starving.

I want this shit to be readable, but I also want some flexibility to  relate to the reader what I am thinking. I deal in vaguery quite a bit since much of what I talk about is either abstract and/or an abstraction. Existential kinds of shit that leans heavily into ethics. This means I must avoid morality, legality, governmental and anything religious in nature. This further means that I’m always hip-fucking-deep in that bullshit.

But why wouldn’t I be?

It’s everywhere. Unavoidable. Not to mention that anywhere these things are not, is exactly where they want to be.

Not to mention, what does this not only say about you and how you feel about your current station in life, but also how you feel about your co-workers. Your “more-equals”. Are they shitbags too?

Just thinking, that even tho we may have commonalities and/or common goals, that doesn’t make the totality of our being(s) the same. “It’s all about this” or “it’s all about that” completely ignores time(s) and change(s).

Sounds to me like “it’s all about determining what it’s all about, and then, going out and proving that you personally know what it’s all about, and others should know what it’s all about as well.”

I’ve primarily been thinking about just and only a couple of people while writing this, and one in particular. Supposedly, they have put forth a theory, the redux being, “it’s all about sex.”

Every paradox is going to have a loop. Hence, it can’t be all about sex, because prior to, it was all about finding out what it’s all about. Even if you know “what ‘it’s’ all about”, you still gotta stop to start again. But that’s just my opinion.

That said, this is likely why the concept of “The Alpha and Omega” makes sense to me personally. A beginning and end that simultaneously co-exist within something else entirely.

  • Find the begging, and you simultaneously find the end.
  • Find the end, and you simultaneously find the beginning.
  • All of those co-exist in the same space and spaces.

But that raises the question…

I dunno. We walk right though beginnings and endings every moment of our life, and don’t give it a second thought. So what and where lies the controversy? Welp, if you are The Creator, seems to me that you’ll be wrestling with the concept of “is and is not” for the entirety of existence. You can add whatever name you want there in place of “The Creator”, but to me, the concept of “The Creator” is going to be dynamic.

EX: A door-to door salesman comes to your door. What did this person have for breakfast this morning? What did YOU have for breakfast this morning?

Who know what, and when. I mean, you wanted to talk about more existential types of stuff with a random stranger…right? And before you dismiss that thought out of hand, you might give some thought as to why doctors are so popular. I mean…doctors are strangers…right? But in the case of doctors, you are the stranger seeking out another stranger for something. Not unlike the door-to-door salesman that just appeared out of thin air, interrupting your breakfast trying to sell you something you may or may not need.

I just found out…if you type within the edit box of the WordPress editor, and the text wanders off the page at the bottom to where you cannot see it, but you keep on typing anyway? Eventually after a hard-return or two, the page will scroll automatically to where you can see what you are typing again.

That said, I don’t think that most are as comfortable with typing blindly as I am. I only use three fingers and both thumbs to type, but I still can type pretty fucking fast and am quite accurate + very comfortable with the keyboard.

I guess years of working on and with computers will do that to a fella.

Now that we’ve part II done, and I’ve bopped over and wrote some shiznit over at my Blogger blog, I can now continue on here at WordPress.

I guess WordPress appears a little quirky to me, because it appears they are trying to automate anything an everything. My guess is, that any time the cursor moves, or anytime that a keypress or some other “on” event happens, they are monitoring the fuck out of what is transpiring.

I’ve noticed that the visual editor does not like hyperlinks where the text is not left-justified. If you center the text/cursor, and THEN insert the/a hyperlink? Whatever you just inserted appears, then disappears, leaving you with only the text. HOWEVER, if you close the editor window/close the post, and then go back into the edit window to edit that same post, the whatever now appears.

I found this out by inadvertently closing the editor window, and when I opened it back up, there were suddenly two iterations of the same video. :-/

I’ve also noticed that WordPress appears not to allow the changing of a font size to two different font sizes on the same line. Maybe that’s a “premium” feature or something.

I personally am still in the contemplative phase as to whether or not to switch to WordPress from Blogger. Me being the wordy fucker that I am, I could prolly do both. I do also have a fuckton of free-time currently, and my interests are non-commercial. I’m just trying to learn how to write/learn how to write better.

Communication(s) and communicating is key. Expressiveness and the ability to accurately express myself is also important. Music and images help me do that. They inspire me. However, were I unable to use these whenever I need them? Or if using them hampered my ability/abilities to write? Welp, say what you want, but I need what I need. Not that I am so narrow minded that I cannot go around, nor that I am somehow opposed to adversity, nor am I ungrateful for the tools available to me. But just because I try to be mindful of these things doesn’t mean that I always am mindful of these things. Not to mention that my being mindful of shit has precisely fuckall to do with anyone else.

OK…so…popped over to Twitter, and asked her how it was going via Twitter DM, and have heard nothing back yet. That said, when I posted in the link to that video/song above? I noticed the WordPress editor acting a shade…wonky.

Not that I think Twitter and WordPress are battling within my Chrome browser, and also within their own address spaces on my computer…but yeah…it’s exactly that.

For the time being, I have closed the tab running Twitter. That said, I’ve 7 other tabs open, not to mention another separate browser instance of Chrome. So the question becomes…

Q: How are online services dealing with the concept of multi-tasking, all while being so goddamn greedy?

There are only so many hours in a day. In order to keep your numbers up, and consistent, you are going to have to learn to play well with others. Yes, I realize you likely do try and play well with others most of the time. But what about all of this profit based and growth based bullshit. How many metrics and/or dynamics are you prepared to pile on in order to make yourselves and your services more attractive? Cause I don’t care how big, fluffy and comfortable a pillow looks on a bed. If you launch that same pillow out of a cannon, that pillow is no longer fluffy, nor comfortable, and you likely wish now that it wasn’t so goddamn big.

What am I babbling about? Simple….would you rather be hit with 100 lbs of feathers, or 100 lbs of lead? Point being, knives cut. It’s what they do. The more dynamics you add to your metrics, the better likelyhood that they are eventually going to slice you in a way that you don’t like. Are you prepared to deal with that? But more than that, are you prepared to NOT deal with it. Yeah, are you prepared to take it on the chin? I mean, it was fine and dandy when “The Slugger” was slugging in ways that you like. Why is it unacceptable and even unfathomable to think that “The Slugger” will eventually land you in the seat of “the slugged”?

I’m gonna hop back on Twitter real quick and see if she’s responded. But before I do, the scrolling features do not seem to be working within the WordPress edit window, and whenever I insert a hyperlink to a video or image, the auto-tagging feature seems to be causing some grief to the edit window. Methinks that your auto-save timers are fucked up, and may be conflicting somehow with any of your scripts that are doing the backend HTML formatting, and this is somehow not translating well to be WYSIWYG editor upon refresh. Maybe your seekpoistion routines are fucking up. I’d suggest a gander at anything you are doing to find the cursor and or mouse position.

Just seems like something, or several things, are having trouble knowing where they are, where they were, and/or where they should be. /me shrugs

Gotta keep in mind, that someone who is good with a keyboard is likely not going to be using the mouse much, if at all. Once you master the arrow keys and a few hotkeys, the mouse becomes more of the tool it was intended to be. Like…should I mention that the entirety of this writing has been done while I’ll laying on my side in bed? Not trying to get anyone hot and bothered or anything, but I’ve been laying in bed, on my side, trying to help out my friend, by making this post, since she uses WordPress. I’ve been in computers long enough to know, that the best way that I can help her, is by getting in here and getting dirty, and trying to see what she is seeing, and by actually experiencing what she is experiencing. Or at least, as close as I can get.

I’ve not yet gone back to Twitter, but my phone just went off, so she appears to have messaged me…brb.

FUCK!!! Still not her. It was someone answering a question I had asked about “witchy stuff” or whatever it’s called. I’m not big on names in certain contexts, but whatever, it wasn’t my friend that is having difficulty with WordPress.

OK…so…I inserted that RevCo song above, or, inserted the hyperlink into the edit window, and the edit window scrolled up to the previous video…the Manufacture video. But this time, it didn’t scroll as far as it had when I inserted the prior video. (RevCo = Do Ya Think I’m Sexy).

This time when the edit window scrolled, it was more towards the Manufacture video AND the picture below it, because I could see both when the insert and auto-formatting routines appeared to complete…whatever it is that they are doing.

I will say this also…whenever I use hotkeys for formatting…like CTRL+I for italics, or CTRL+B for bold, the edit window appears to have a schism of some kind. Or unkind. Whatever. Point being, there is definitely some battle going on with the visual and manual controls. Or,  maybe that’s secondary and the actual issue is elsewhere. Not that I’m a software developer or anything. Or at least, not anymore I’m not.

So…why wouldn’t I use software development tools to track a software related issue? Simple…how in the FUCK can you get to know your end-user(s), if you never use your own service like they do? Fuck the tools, gadgetry and brains…get your fucking hands dirty, and put yourself through the same grief your users are suffering through. To do any less, is to make you as useless and dumb as they are. You’ve tied your own hands. Smarten-up, by dumbing your smart-ass down. May even gain a little humility along the way. Those dumb-ass end users pay your salary. If you’ll burn one, you’ll burn them all. Just sayin’.

K…after I inserted that video above, the page seemed to go through SEVERAL refresh routines. I’m sure that there is all kinds of crazy implementations that are being used by WordPress. That irritaing-assed menu off to the right-hand side is going to cause me to break out into hives. Yeah…the “Post Settings” one.

I realize there is an “X” there for me to be able to close it, but why is it even there? More than that, if THAT is there, why isn’t there a goddamn save button to be found?
